The MIG 15 in 1/50th Scale
Originally Released: 1959 (under the KVZ brand, kit number 5550).
The MIG 15 is considered one of the rarer kits from Plasticart, and as such commands high prices. The mould is held by reifra, who continue to produce some of the Plasicart range.
reifra models are of extremely high quality and highly recommended. To visit their website Click here
Values Based on current listings and collector markets:
- Sealed/Mint Condition: up to €500 Rare early editions in pristine “time capsule” boxes can reach the higher end of this range.
- Open Box (Unbuilt/Complete): €250 to €400 Values vary depending on whether the decals are dried out or the box is damaged
-
Factors Affecting Value
- The Brand Label: The earliest kits (1959–1960s) were branded as KVZ. These are significantly more valuable than the later VEB Plasticart reissues from the 1970s and 80s.
- Box Art: Collectors often pay a premium for specific DDR box art designs. A crushed or faded box can reduce the value by 50% or more.
- Completeness: Missing instructions, damaged decals, or parts that have “snapped off” the sprue, lower the price significantly.
